Psychosynthesis Psychology

Psychosynthesis is a psychological approach that understands human beings as more than the difficulties they may be experiencing. It is interested in the whole person — including our thoughts, emotions, relationships, bodies, identities, values and our sense of meaning and purpose.

Rather than seeing aspects of ourselves that we struggle with simply as problems to be removed, Psychosynthesis invites curiosity about what they might be communicating and how they belong within our wider experience. Our work can therefore include both what is difficult and what is possible.

For me, the relationship between counsellor and client is central to the therapeutic process. I aim to create a safe and respectful space in which you can explore your experience without needing to arrive with everything figured out. There is no particular way you need to be, and no version of yourself you need to present.

My role is not to tell you who you are or where you should go. Instead, I seek to listen to you and with you — remaining curious about your experience and supporting you to develop your own relationship with what is unfolding. I work from a perspective that holds a person's wholeness at the centre: the different parts of ourselves, our histories, relationships, difficulties, hopes and possibilities.
